On Saturday, January 1, the newspaper El Peruano published resolution No. 0950-2021, where the National Elections Jury (JNE) declared founded the vacancy appeal of David Rojas, mayor of San Luis. The request was sent by the neighbor Pedro Favio García Riega, who denounced that Rojas violated article 63 of the Organic Law of Municipalities, by benefiting with a service contract to the company of a close friend of yours after buying him a car.
According to the investigations, David Rojas bought a vehicle from his friend Jesús Zúñiga, owner of the International Maquinarias Perú SAC company. On June 24, 2019, Zúñiga’s company signed a contract for S / 12,744 for the rental service of a skid steer loader, a scissor lift and a mini excavator.
Six months later, Zúñiga was hired again as a supplier by the municipality of San Luis. On December 3, he returned to provide machinery services, but this time he was hired for an amount of S / 19,942.

For his part, García Riega denounced that the car sold from Rojas to Zúñiga was paid in 30 installments, which in total add up to the value that the municipality paid for the rental of services.
“The mayor buys the truck from his neighbor, a friend of his, in 30 installments, and during that period, the friend became a supplier to the municipality, winning two service orders, which coincidentally add up to almost the same value of the vehicle” , denounced García Riega, a neighbor who requested the vacancy.
At the moment it is known that the deputy mayor of the jurisdiction of San Luis, Zee Carlos Corrales Romero, will be the one who will assume the position of mayor in replacement of David Rojas until the end of the term in 2022.
