At least three dead, three injured -including a minor- and two missing left two landslides caused by heavy rains in northern Nicaragua, reported the state-run National System for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Attention (Sinapred). ).
The latest victim, identified as Lidia Yesenia Amador, 37, was found in a rural community in the municipality of San José de Bocay, department of Jinotega, 239 kilometers north of Managua.
The woman was reported missing by the authorities along with two other people in an avalanche that occurred in that place last Wednesday.
Local residents presume that the number of victims could be higher.
So far, the Government of Nicaragua has reported three deaths in total, the victim reported today, plus two others in the municipality of Wiwilí (Jinotega), as well as three injured.

The disasters were a consequence of the intense and persistent rains that have prevailed in Nicaragua since last week, and that are characteristic of the wet season of the year in the Central American country.
The rainfall has had various origins, from local low pressures to the passage of tropical waves, as well as the remnants of Hurricane Agatha that affected southeastern Mexico, according to the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (Ineter).
Nicaragua is a country prone to multiple disasters, including landslides, floods, hurricanes, droughts, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, among others.
The rainy season in Nicaragua, which includes the possible appearance of storms and has already caused flooding in the main cities of the country, officially began in mid-May and will end at the end of next November.
