There are no cuts to health and education budgets. That was the brief and concise response of Mayor Jhonny Fernández to the query about the complaints made by opposition councilors who observe modifications to the Annual Operating Budget (POA) 2022.
The mayor was this Friday in the Influential program, of EL DEBER Radio, to clarify these observations.
In the session of the Municipal Council on Thursday, the opposition mayors observed modifications to the budgets destined to health and education, and an increase in the budget for the financial area.

Among the works, he cited the first pedestrian bridge in the Three Thousand Plan, which will be inaugurated next week along with several paved sections. He also mentioned the 200 kilometers of roads that are being paved and that already have an advance of 40 percent. Likewise, he cited the works on the La Guardia double track.
Two other “major works” announced by the mayor are: the construction of a stadium in the north zonewhose land was ceded to the Santa Cruz municipality, and the implementation of a metropolitan urban train, which will cover the fourth ring road, Viru Viru, Warnes and Montero airports.
Regarding health, the mayor reported that has earmarked Bs 60 million for hospital equipment. Currently, there are 57 intensive therapies enabled, and medicines and supplies are guaranteed in all hospitals.
Later, the mayor pointed out that Bs 98 million have been disbursed for the payment of the school bonus to elementary students. And for high school, in 40 days they intend to deliver computers (no longer tablets).
Regarding the issue of market reorganization, Jhonny Fernández spoke of the reversal of stalls in disused markets, a measure that is part of the order.
On the issue of public transport, it proposes the modernization of buses, with units that have greater passenger capacity, surveillance cameras and electronic collection.
Regarding the use of the BRT in the first ring, he reiterated that it will be modified once the Public Ministry issues a ruling. He confirmed the removal of cordons, the authorization of roadblocks and the use of stops for transportation in North-South and East-West sections.
