The mayor of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Jhonny Fernández, undertakes the study of the first phase of the Metropolitan Urban Train until May 2023 This first stage includes a line that connects Montero with the capital, passing through Warnes and the Viru Viru international airport .
Fernandez held a coordination meeting in the Fifth Municipal with the mayors of Montero, Warnes, the vice president of the National Electricity Company (ENDE), the manager of the bus terminal and technicians from the Prointer company.
“This is a project with great economic impact., social for all our municipalities. It is one more step that we take in the integration of this metropolis”, he affirmed.
ANDThe project will be put “on the table” together with a business model that is viable for Santa Cruz de la Sierra and the metropolitan region. with the work will benefit the inhabitants of the aforementioned municipalities and the people who travel these routes to work in industries and businesses.
The study commits the presentation of three options to make the project feasible.. The first alternative consists of a public-public agreement, where the State and municipal governments can be the executors of the work with financing. The second option contemplates the public-private agreement. And the last form of execution considers the concession mechanism similar to the one used for the construction of the double track to La Guardia or the bridge to Urubó.
