The carioca Jhennifer Conceição broke the South American record of the 50 meters breaststroke, this Thursday (15) in the Troféu José Finkel 2022, which is being disputed in Recife. To guarantee the mark, the athlete from Pinheiros completed the race in 29s87.
“Happy with the mark, but of course I swam to reach the index. I believe that my time is among the best of the last World Cup. However, another South American record is very important for me and for the club as well”, declared Jhennifer.
Who also shone in the competition was the experienced João Gomes Junior, who took gold in the men’s version of the race with a time of 25s86. This time gave him the index for the dispute of one more World of short course.
“Very happy with the brand. I would like to thank Pinheiros, the entire support team and the people of Recife who welcome us very well here. Human warmth is very good. I didn’t do very well, but, at 36, we’re still learning. That’s what sport is,” said the Pinheiros athlete.
