The airline JetBlue will be sanctioned by the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Pro Consumer), due to the constant complaints and complaints received by the institution for the services offered by the company to its users.
This was confirmed yesterday by the director of ProConsumidor, Eddy Alcantarawho pointed out that JetBlue would be subject to fines for its breaches, in addition to the possibility of financially compensating those affected, as proposed by the Law 358-05on Protection of Consumer Rights.

He assured that on Wednesday the representatives of the airline asked to visit ProConsumidor, but, he said, that the institution will proceed to apply what the Law establishes, because they were given several warnings.
“With JetBlue we have met to talk about the disagreements we had and that they had to resolve. But more complaints kept coming in, prompting us to issue several warnings to them,” he explained.
He indicated that the sanctions will depend on the seriousness of the case.
“The sanctions are from one salary, up to 500 or 5,000 salaries, according to the seriousness of the event. If there is any other violation of any particular regulation, we process the file”, he stated.
JAC will apply sanctions to airlines
On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), warned that from this Tuesday, apply sanctions and finesto national and foreign airlines that do not comply with resolution 252-2021, which requires the filling of the E-Ticket and service facilities to its users.
Resolution 252-2021 of the Civil Aviation Board establishes that airlines are obliged to provide an electronic form to their passengers, so that they can be filled out before going to the airports and thus provide facilities and save time.
