Camargo dedicated herself as an activist to the defense of women’s rights, after her mother and sister were victims of feminicide in 2012, in addition to fighting for the well-being of people of sexual and gender diversity. He founded the collective ‘In a single voice and struggle’.
Collectives complained about the lack of a quick response, since the authorities demanded that the disappearance report be filed by a family member, when the young man had distanced himself from his father after the death of his mother and sister.
They demanded the immediate, effective search with a human rights perspective for Camargo, as well as activating the corresponding protocols for human rights defenders and the LGBT+ community.
“Their disappearance is not an isolated event, it occurs in a context of structural violence that threatens those who defend life, dignity, memory and justice. Disappearing those who raise their voices is a way of trying to sow fear, but it is also a serious violation of human rights that cannot and should not be normalized,” said the groups Sororas Guasave, Amapolas Rebeldes, Rastreadoras de Guasave and the Guasave Diversity Committee.
Guadalupe Camargo Loya is 24 years old, has a dark complexion, medium complexion, round face, medium eyes, medium nose, wide forehead, large mouth, thick eyebrows and straight hair, according to the search form issued by the Sinaloa Person Search Commission.
