Within the framework of the state of emergency in force in Lima and Callao, the President of the Republic, José Jerí, This morning he made an unexpected visit to various police units in San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL), with the aim of reinforcing citizen security actions and consolidating control against crime.
The head of state began his tour at the Eastern Emergency Squadron 1, where he inspected the facilities and held an operational meeting with police personnel.
During the meeting, the current strategic deployment in the district was evaluated and new measures were defined to increase the presence of troops in critical points.
One of the central axes of the day was the strengthening of security for transporters, one of the sectors hardest hit by crime in recent weeks. At the meeting, specific coordination was established to guarantee the protection of the main transportation routes that cross SJL, considered strategic corridors due to their high vehicular and commercial flow.
Likewise, emergency response mechanisms, police intervention times and citizen service protocols were reviewed, with the purpose of optimizing operational capacity in the face of criminal acts.
Official sources indicated that the priority is to ensure integrated patrols and a permanent deterrent presence in areas identified as hotspots of crime.
Evaluation of operations against organized crime
Subsequently, the president went to the Santa Elizabeth Police Station, where he held a second meeting with police officers to analyze the territorial control operations carried out in recent days.
During the session, the results obtained in the fight against common crime and organized crime were reviewed, as well as the interventions carried out within the framework of the state of emergency, which allows the reinforced deployment of law enforcement forces.
