Jenni Hermoso's Tigres, to the semifinal of the Champions Cup

The women’s team Tigers defeated this Thursday 3-1 Alajuelense Costa Rican and qualified for the semifinals of the Champions Cup W of Concacaf. The Portuguese Ana Dias, Maricarmen Reyes and Anika Rodríguez sealed the classification of the team led by the Spanish coach Milagros Martínez Sofía Varela scored for the visitors.

The Costa Rican formation was better in the first 25 minutes until Varela appeared with a left-footed goal. Alajuelense assimilated the blow, reorganized its lines and in the 33rd minute tied with a header from Días. The Amazons came out with advanced lines in the second half. They soon prowled the area and reflected it with a goal from Reyes after a pass from Spain’s Jenni Hermoso in the 61st minute. Three minutes later, a right-handed shot from Anika Rodríguez sealed the match.

Tigres added their third victory in three outings and reached nine points that anticipated their passage to the semifinals. Following the Mexican team are Gotham FC with seven points, Monterrey (4), Alajuelense (3) and the Jamaican Frazsiers, who have lost their four games.
