Jean Deza, investigated for alleged crime of attempted feminicide, is prevented from leaving Peru

A Peruvian court ordered this Monday that the footballer was prevented from leaving the country for months. Jean Dezawho is being investigated for the alleged crime of attempted femicide following a complaint from his partner, who claims to have been beaten until she was unconscious, the Prosecutor’s Office reported. The measure was taken by the 13th Preparatory Investigation Court of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima, at the request of the Second Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Violence against Women of Lima Centro, added the Public Ministry on the social network X.

Last Thursday, the Prosecutor’s Office opened a preliminary investigation against the 31-year-old soccer player for the attack suffered by his partner, a model identified as GAF, in the Lima district of San Miguel. The model published a statement on her social networks in which she stated that on January 1 she had an argument with her “at that time” partner, which is why she decided to withdraw from the meeting in which they celebrated the arrival of the New Year.

“When I went to the room to get my wallet so I could leave, he went up and started attacking me until I lost consciousness and remained unconscious for hours,” she said. He adds that, later, he went to a police station to file a complaint and confirmed that he has ended his relationship with the athlete.

After learning of this information, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations reported that it was going to provide comprehensive care to the “victim of violence by a soccer player” and asked the judicial authorities to carry out the investigation quickly and taking into account ” the background of the accused”.

The Juan Pablo II soccer team, which this year will play in the national First Division, decided to end its relationship with the player, whom it had signed days before, because, as it points out, it requires of its members “exemplary behavior, aligned with the purpose of contributing to the construction of a better society”.
