The Central Electoral Board (JCE) declared on Wednesday the loss of legal status of the Patria Party for all (ppt) and the present youth movement (MJP).
The regulatory body made the decision by issuing resolution number 6-2025, based on article 75 of Law 33-18, on parties, groups and political movements. The document states that in the case of PPT it did not reach 1 % in the latest ordinary elections.
Regarding the MJP, it was found that it did not participate in the elections of February 18, 2024. In this sense, both entities did not meet the requirements established by law for its operation.
Other resolutions
In another order, the Board issued resolution number 7-2025, which categorizes political organizations for public financing purposes and provides the numerical order that they will have in the electoral tickets for the general ordinary elections of the year 2028.
In addition, he announced resolution number 8-2025, which establishes the amounts of the distribution of the State’s economic contribution to political parties and movements by 2025.
This financing, which is used for the political and electoral activity of the parties, seeks to balance competition and provide the necessary resources so that all political organizations have the possibility of participating in the process
