JCE supports accusation by the Santiago Prosecutor’s Office for falsification of documents in the Colibrí case

Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) welcomed the submission to justice, made by the Prosecutor’s Office of Santiago, against 13 people involved who were part of a criminal network that processed thousands of false public documents, which included birth certificates and identity cards, around the Electoral Board of that municipality.

According to information from the Attorney General’s Office, the accusation contains more than 600 pages that describe the way in which the structure was formed.

The investigation led by Legal Consulting and the Civil Security Directorate of the JCE, as well as expert officers and undercover personnel from the Civil Security Directorate, who contributed to the provision of more than 800 pieces of evidence, including the plastics seized by the Public Ministry, through judicially endorsed raids, which were used to print different types of documents. officers.

The investigation by the Public Ministry explains that the works captured by the so-called “buscones” or tributary were processed to those who executed them, depending on their specialty, including those who irregularly processed the records of the Dominican Civil Registry.

Those accused of integrating the fraudulent network are Julio César Almonte Espinal (César), William Ramón Rodríguez Rodríguez, Samuel Elías Ceballos Ramos, Ana Delia Ysidra Tavarez Soto, Luis Manuel Rodríguez Rodríguez, Arsenio Rafael Reyes, Tomás Enmanuel Rojas Guzmán, Noel de Jesús Padilla Minaya, Fausto Merán (Capital), José Rosario Marte (Cheo).

Likewise, Yanuel Morales Rodríguez (Google), José Miguel Cruz Hiraldo (Sandy) and José Carlos Montero Troncoso.

The group is accused of violating articles 265, 266, 147, 150, of the Dominican Penal Code; article 13, of Law 8-92 on Identity and Electoral Cards; that typify the association of evildoers, falsification of authentic or public writing and falsification of private writing.

In relation to the accused Montero Troncoso, former employee of the JCE, he is accused, in addition to the above, of violating articles 265, 266, 145, article 86 of Law 172-13 on Comprehensive Protection of Personal Data; articles 6 paragraph I, 7, 18 and 19 of Law 53-07 on High Technology Crimes and Offenses.

The JCE reiterates its position to reliably confront all violations of the Dominican Civil Registry, as well as the identity of citizens.
