SANTO DOMINGO.- The Plenary Session of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) this Friday designated Denny E. Díaz Mordán as the new director of Political Parties and Nikauris Báez Ramírez, as the new legal consultant of the electoral body.
The decision of the Plenary, adopted through an administrative session, establishes that Lenis García Guzmánwho served as director of Political Parties, be chosen by the National Council of the Judiciary to be titular judge of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Professional profile of Denny Díaz Mordán
The new director of Political PartiesDenny E. Díaz Mordán, is Law graduate (Cum Laude) with a master’s degree in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedure at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
In addition, he has a specialty in Constitutional Justice from the University of Castilla, La Mancha (Spain).
Díaz Mordán accumulates more than 12 years of experience in contentious matters and electoral administration. He was appointed legal consultant to the JCE in November 2020 and developed a solid career in the Judicial Branch, serving as an assistant lawyer in the Court of Appeal of the Judicial District of Santo Domingo.
Later, he served as Director of Electoral Litigation and Electoral Crimes and Infractions between 2017 and 2020 of the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
Currently, the graduate is a tenured undergraduate and postgraduate professor at renowned universities in the country, as well as a facilitator in training programs in constitutional and electoral law taught by various national institutions.
Professional profile of Nikauris Báez Ramírez
The new legal consultant, Nikauris Baez Ramirezis a graduate of the Law school from the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD) (Summa Cum Laude), with a Master’s Degree in Senior Management in Political Parties at the same university.
Ramírez, who owns a Master in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedure at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), has almost eight years of experience in Electoral Law.
He began his professional career in private practice (2016–2019), serving as trial lawyer in the labor, banking, civil and corporate governance areas.
Later, he served as lawyer in the Contentious Directorate of the Superior Electoral Court (2019-2020) and in the Presidency of the Central Electoral Board (2020-2025). Before assuming her current role, she was part of the Constitutional Court team as a lawyer.
Ms. Nikauris also has a vast experience as a teacherwhere he taught classes at prestigious universities in the country, such as: Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU).
Likewise, he coordinated the Specialized Diploma in Electoral Administrationaddressed to the members of the Electoral Logistics Coordination Offices Abroad (OCLEE) of the three constituencies abroad and the Electoral Boards (2023).
