In the program “Azul y Verde”, hosted by Roberto Del Águila, the manager of Sustainability Services at SGS Peru, Javier Perlaoffered a detailed interview about the key role of certifications in the business field and the importance of sustainability as a strategy for business continuity.
During the conversation, Perla highlighted that SGS Peru is synonymous with trust, thanks to its wide range of certification services. “We have a huge spectrum of certifications, from quality, environmental management, money laundering, to information security. New standards are developed every minute to meet the emerging needs of companies,” he explained.
The manager also emphasized the role of ISO standards in creating global standards. “For example, ISO 14001 allows organizations to manage environmental impacts. We identify what generates impact, we manage it, we reduce it and we ensure sustainability,” he noted.
In addition, he mentioned a specific standard related to the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions. “The ISO 14064 part 1 standard establishes an emissions inventory to measure the carbon footprint, which is crucial for companies in the fight against climate change and in the prevention of disasters such as fires.”
Perla stated that “companies have to translate sustainability into business continuity. It is not only an environmental issue, but also an economic and strategic one for their future.”
The interview reaffirms SGS Peru’s commitment to sustainability, providing essential tools for organizations to comply with international standards, protect the environment and ensure their long-term growth.
