The MEP Javier Nart, godfather of Dora Maria Tellez under the Breaking Chains initiative, sponsor a political prisoner, denounced that the objective of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo is to destroy the former Sandinista guerrilla.
“For 19 months now, Dora María Téllez has been imprisoned in the “El Chipote” prison in extremely harsh conditions, in solitary confinement, without the possibility of being able to communicate with anyone, in the men’s area of the prison, the toughest part, without being able to read or write,” said the parliamentarian in a video shared by the Executive Director of the Casla Institute, Tamara Suju.

For Nart, the objective of the Nicaraguan regime “is to progressively undermine the health” of the member of the Unión Democrática Renovadora (Unamos) and also “undermine her capacity for resistance and destroy her psychologically.”
Given the situation that the Sandinista dissident is going through, the MEP said that “I am no longer asking for the freedom of Dora María -Téllez- because I know that the objective of the regime is to put an end to her.”
«But at least, what I ask of the presidential couple —Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo—, that if they still have a remaining capacity, that they recognize Dora María, who went with them, a member of a Sandinista Front that fought for freedom and dignity of the person.” sued.

He also recalled that when he was with the dictator Daniel and his brother, Humberto Ortega, Sergio Ramírez and Ernesto Cardenal, they told them that the “El Chipote” prison was “a center of horrors, this center of horrors is now managed and directed Daniel Ortega himself.
«The freedom of Dora María Téllez or at least turning her into a prisoner under normal conditions, if it can be called normal, being imprisoned for no reason, is the minimum request that can be made of this pathological, dictatorial and criminal presidential couple» , he sued.
Dora María Téllez was violently and arbitrarily detained on June 13, 2021. In parallel, the Ortega Police arrested other leaders of the Unión Democrática Renovadora (Unamos), including Víctor Hugo Tinoco, Ana Margarita Vijil, Suyen Barahona and Hugo Torres, who died under police custody on February 12, 2022.
The opponent is part of the list of more than 230 political prisoners, whom the dictator Daniel Ortega keeps locked up in the different Nicaraguan prisons, accused of conspiring against the homeland, cybercrimes or common crimes.
