The mother of Javier Cisneros, a member of Vente Venezuela, arrested last Friday, October 24, reports that after her son’s arrest, she is a victim of stalking, that she receives calls, they knock on her door, they stop cars near her home

Elis Gil, the mother of Javier Cisneros, a member of the Vente Venezuela youth structure, demands from the authorities information on the whereabouts of her son, 24 hours after being “kidnapped” by alleged officials without identification.

The woman also denounces, through a video on social networkbeing a victim of stalking: “After two hours, they came to stalk me, to get me to open the door for them, to give them (my son’s) phone,” says Gil, who explains that in the middle of the struggle to prevent Cisneros from being taken, the cell phone was left on the street and then she threw it away because “it had gotten wet and broken.”

«They created a psychoterror on me. They get off, get on, stop cars, knock on my door, call me on the phone, but they don’t tell me where my son is,” summarizes Elis Gil, who reiterates that Javier Cisneros is sick with tuberculosis and “urgently” needs his medication.

Gil affirms that his son is a blameless man and demands that they “tell him where my son is. Thinking differently does not make you a criminal,” he insists.

Javier Cisneros was taken away by unidentified individuals on Friday, October 24, after the hooded men struggled with the grandmother (77 years old) of the Vente Venezuela member and her sister.

The young man’s mother claims that her son was working making figures of Saint José Gregorio Hernández to distribute to believers as part of a promise in which he asked for “prompt healing.”

The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners also denounced the detention, while demanding that the State immediately report their whereabouts and state of health; that urgent access to medical care be guaranteed; Immediate communication with family members and trusted lawyers is allowed; and that the persecution against young people, activists and social communicators who exercise civil and political rights stops.

Javier Cisneros was detained by Sebin officials on June 17, 2024 along with journalist Gabriel González in the vicinity of Plaza Altamira. Both were transferred to El Helicoide; but Cisneros was released hours later.

González remains under arrest for alleged crimes of inciting hatred and association, after being linked to an alleged attack on military in La Guaira.

In recent days, arrests have increased against followers of the political organization Vente Venezuela, founded by María Corina Machado. Only until the 17th of this month, 30 people had been detained irregularly; of which, only three had been released.
