The news was confirmed by HITwhich replied to the usual official discourse, describing Yiselena Ballar’s decision as “indiscipline.”

Ballar, with a personal record over 60 meters and champion in this year’s Barrientos Memorial, had been included in the selection of 14 athletes at the last minute, along with discus thrower Mario Díaz.
The athlete reached the bronze medal at the Under 20 World Athletics Championships held in Kenya 2021 and silver at the I Junior Pan American Games in Cali-Valle 2021.
With this “abandonment”, added to the loss of the heptalonist Yorgelis Rodríguez due to injury, the Cuban delegation will have even more difficult to achieve a good performance in the World Cup, which will begin this July 15 and will last until July 24 next.
