A Volvo bus of the Pedro Monge Córdova Higher Pedagogical Education Institute, plate W2J-958, was set on fire on Tuesday night near the Jauja terminal. The vehicle, manufactured in 1980, was already in the process of being written off due to its age.

After the incident, the Jauja Police arrested two people, suspected of causing the incident, after the institute filed the corresponding complaint. Institute staff collaborated with firefighters to control the fire.
The Junín Regional Directorate of Education (DREJ) sent a commission, led by Dulia Huaroc Espinoza, Klever Valero Mayta and Miguel Córdova Calderón, which drew up a supervision report and issued directives to guarantee the security and correct management of heritage assets: report all actions carried out with attached evidence and move the vehicles to a safe place or assign permanent personnel until the deregistration process is completed.

The visit sought to ensure that the institute complies with the administrative and security procedures after the incident, protecting institutional assets and avoiding future risks.
