The mechanic Edwin Gago Sánchez (27) and the security guard Anthony Cóndor Espinoza (26), were arrested by the police from the Jauja Police Station, when they were offering several bags of food at the city’s trade fair that days before were stolen from a home in the Huertas district.
To transport the merchandise, the mechanic had no better idea than to use the silver-colored truck with the plate EGC 120, belonging to the Municipality of the Marco district, in the province of Jauja, a vehicle that days before was taken into his workshop to receive maintenance.
The case became more relevant after one of the injured parties identified as Michael Casachagua, whose house was emptied the previous week, arrived at the sports club in the Lunahuaná neighborhood and upon entering one of the rooms that was used as the guard’s bedroom, he found almost everything that had been stolen from him, from briefcases with clothes, furniture, jewelry, to ammunition and a service weapon.
Irrefutable evidence
Changing rooms, bags of food, tools, appliances and some educational materials that were stolen 3 years ago in IE 30507 were also found in this environment.
“We have only found a ball, a mat and a wheelbarrow belonging to our institution. That time they also stole computers, televisions, printers, violins, guitars, among others,” said director Jessica Arroyo, who emphasized that it is the third time they have suffered a robbery and the detainees would be responsible.
At the moment there are four families that have managed to recognize their belongings, while the criminal prosecutor of Jauja, Yanderith Hinostroza, has begun preliminary proceedings such as the declaration of the injured parties and the interrogation of the detainees.
If their participation in the crimes is proven, they could be locked up for several years.
