Jair Bolsonaro assured that he will soon return to Brazil to do politics

Minister in Brazil assures that Jair Bolsonaro will speak about the elections this #1Nov

Jair Bolsonaro, former president of Brazil, expressed his intention to return to his country “shortly” to seek a normality after three months living in the United States. He is also accused of having introduced undeclared jewelry in the order of three million dollars.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has been in the United States since December 30, announced on Saturday March 4 at an event attended by former US President Donald Trump that he plans to return to his country “shortly” in order to make politics and return to “normalcy”.

Bolsonaro also expressed the intention of wanting to be closer to his family three months after leaving Brazil, two days before his presidential term ended and that of his successor, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, began.

His lawyer is already processing a visa change so that the former Brazilian president can stay six more months in the United States.

Former President Jair Bolsonaro is included in the investigation list carried out by the Brazilian authorities for allegedly inciting violence in the march on January 8, when many of his followers staged a massive march to Brasilia and attacked the headquarters of the Presidency, Parliament and the Supreme Court; fact considered by the current administration of the Amazonian country as an attempted coup d’état.

On the other hand, the former Brazilian president is being accused of having introduced undeclared jewels to Brazil in 2021; the same ones that he received from the Saudi Arabian government when he was still in office.

The jewels, which include a set of earrings, a necklace, a ring and a Swiss Chopard watch, are valued at three million dollars and were found in a bag owned by an adviser to Bolsonaro’s mines and energy minister in the international airport of São Paulo.

«They accuse me for a gift that I did not receive, nor did the first lady. Even the value was a surprise to me (…) I read articles in the newspapers saying that I tried to take the jewels illegally to Brazil -he added- and that is a lie (…) The press also talks about something absurd, that I would have to pay 50%. He would have to pay 8 million reais (1,538,461 dollars) -he said-. Where am I going to get that money, for God’s sake? I am a person who does not have assets to assume that,” Bolsonaro said in an interview.
