The president of the National Party, Pablo Iturralde, was present at the 24th Meeting of Nationalist Women that took place this weekend at the Salto Equestrian Center and, although the audience was made up entirely of women, his speech was formulated entirely in a masculine key.
Iturralde asked the women to have “brotherly piety, filial piety” and called on them “not to speak ill of our comrades.” “Let’s shut up if we don’t have anything good to say about our teammates. In this party that I dream of handing over to the next president in a few years, I want us to have a modern party that knows how to communicate. We have to work on communication, that we train our comrades, ”said the highest representative of the PN, whose words turned into applause from the crowd.
“With the colorados we killed each other looking into each other’s eyes”
“We have a commitment to good government practices, and we have to travel all over the country preparing and helping our colleagues permanently, and where we understand that the colleague who is next to us is worth as much as we are (…) but in the meantime let us be clear that none of us are going to do well if it is not going well for us as a group. For the party to do well, for a comrade to do well, the government has to do well“Iturralde added.
He stressed the concept of unity not only partisan but throughout the entire multicolored coalition that led Luis Lacalle Pou to the presidency of the Republic. “Whether we like it or not like it (the coalition), I like it a lot. I really like to look at everything that I have ahead to build with the other parties instead of everything that separated us ”.
“We with the colorados, how many times do we face each other on the battlefields and kill each other? Of course, it was not treacherous or with bombs or hidden: it was by looking into our eyes that we killed and we watched, ”he concluded.
