The construction of 34 km of highway in San Estanislao begins to modernize the old La Línea road, with a cycle path and key works.
With the official start of work on Saint Stanislaus of Kostkaconstruction began on a new 34 kilometer highway which will replace the old La Línea track. The project, led by the governor of Bolívar, Yamil Arana Padauí, seeks to improve the road connection between Cartagena, San Estanislao, Villanueva and Santa Rosa de Lima.
The work contemplates the comprehensive recovery and modernization of the section, which currently presents significant damage that affects mobility and increases transportation costs. The intervention will include deep excavation, total reconstruction of the pavement structure, construction of embankments, drainage works and signage to ensure greater security.

Additionally, a cycle route between La Cordialidad and Santa Rosa, thus promoting the safety of cyclists. The estimated time for completion of the work is 12 monthsdate by which the road is expected to be inaugurated within the framework of the Gran Fondo de Nairo Quintana.
“This road represents a lot for this area of the department. We could not wait for it to collapse to intervene. We made a clear decision: to rebuild it in its entirety, without patches, with modern specifications that turn it into an efficient and safe highway,” said Governor Yamil Arana.

This road improvement is part of the investment plan that the Government of Bolívar executes in the north of the department, where projects such as construction of sports venues, improvements in aqueducts, paving of streets and new educational infrastructures are also being developed.
Along the 34 kilometers, micro-milling, application of a new asphalt layer and improvements in road safety will be carried out. Among the planned activities are:
• Excavation and total recovery of the pavement.
• Construction of embankment, containment and drainage works.
• Installation of subbase and granular base.
• Application of primer and hot mix asphalt.
• Signage to reinforce road safety.
