Former President Donald Trump on Saturday dismissed his possible indictment for money paid to silence a porn actress, at his first campaign event for the 2024 United States presidential election.

“The New York District Attorney, under the auspices and direction of the ‘injustice department’ in Washington DC, he was investigating me for something that is not a crime, It’s not a misdemeanor, it’s not a case,” he told supporters in the Texas town of Waco.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg investigate if the actress Stormy Daniels received $130,000 from Trump, just before the 2016 presidential elections, allegedly not to speak publicly of an alleged love affair between the two.

“I never liked ‘Horseface,'” Trump said, giving Daniels a derogatory nickname.

“That wouldn’t be the one. There aren’t any. We have a great first lady.”

Trump had said he would be arrested last week and warned that his prosecution could result in “potential death and destruction,” apparently by angry supporters.

He would become the first former president or sitting president to be charged with a crime if the grand jury, a panel of citizens convened by Bragg, decides to indict him.
