Santo Domingo, DR.– The new ambassador of the United States in the Dominican Republic, Leah Francis Campos, arrived in the country this Thursday afternoon Las Americas International Airport (AILA)in flight UA2004 of United Airlinescoming from Newark, New Jersey.

The diplomat arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon and was received by the chargé d’affaires of the United States Embassy, ​​Patricia Aguilera, along with personnel from AERODOM and the head of the Specialized Corps for Airport and Civil Aviation Security (CESAC), Pilot Brigadier General Enmanuel Marcelino Souffront Tamayo.

Upon arrival, Campos did not offer statements to journalists They cover the airport fountain, simply saying hello politely before heading towards the exit.

The arrival of Fields marks the beginning of a new stage in bilateral relations between the United States and the Dominican Republic, which maintain close cooperation in the economic, educational, security and institutional development fields.

The diplomat replaces Robert Thomaswho served as acting chargé d’affaires at the US diplomatic headquarters in Santo Domingo.
