“It is the time of the Court and I am sure that the ministers and ministers will act with responsibility and independence as the authentic guardians of the Constitution that they are called to be,” said the counselor.
In the next few days, we will promote a constitutional controversy so that the SCJN decides whether both the content of plan B and the way in which the legislative process was developed are constitutional. I fully trust the objectivity and independence of the Court. pic.twitter.com/L4bq7ugPh7

The INE filed a first controversy against the first part of “Plan B”, the amendments to the Social Communication and Administrative Responsibilities laws. Córdova recalled that a second appeal will be filed against the other four laws that make up the electoral reform and whose validity began on Thursday, March 2.
“The defense of democracy will continue to be in the weeks to come regardless of the disqualifications and acts of intimidation that unfortunately are undertaken from the highest spheres of power,” he mentioned in a video message posted on Twitter.
“(In the INE) we have already begun to abide by what this new arbitrary and undemocratic legislation forces us to do” but simultaneously the constitutional controversy will be presented “so that the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation decides if both the content of the ” Plan B” as the way in which the legislative process was developed,” explained Córdova.
In his message, he reiterated that the reliability of the electoral processes and the stability of specialized INE personnel were put at risk, since the dismissal of the executive secretary Edmundo Jacobo, ordered by the reform, was completed, which – he added – “violates constitutional autonomy from high school”.
“I am certain that the constellation of unconstitutionalities of this reform will not subsist the test to which it will be submitted in the courts of the Republic. I am confident that the Judiciary will restore the constitutional and democratic order in our country”, expressed the president of the INE.
