Ito Bisonó supervisa daños por crecida del río Joba y anuncia plan de intervención en Gaspar Hernández

Espaillat. – After the intense rainfall that caused the Joba River to overflow and affected several homes in Gaspar Hernandezthe Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings, Ito Bisonóconducted a tour of the impacted areas to verify the magnitude of the damage and coordinate an official response.

The presence of the official in the municipality occurred by order of the president Luis Abinaderafter starting a preliminary technical survey by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings with the objective of identifying the compromised structures and defining the necessary actions for their recovery.

Diagnosis and recovery of homes

During the inspection, it was reported that the ministry will work on the rehabilitation of the affected houses through the Dominicana Se Reconstruye program, in addition to implementing improvements in the urban environment to restore adequate conditions of safety and habitability.

Bisonó explained that the priority is to guarantee sustainable solutions for affected families, taking into account both the structural damage and the conditions of the surrounding area.

Immediate support for families

As part of the initial assistance, MIVHED brigades delivered basic household goods and essential items to the impacted residents, while meetings were held with community leaders to collect key information to expedite interventions.

The senator participated in the tour Carlos Gomezthe governor Patricia Munozthe mayor Abel Surielas well as representatives of different government entities linked to the social response.

Articulated work and monitoring

The authorities indicated that the work will be carried out in a coordinated manner with the municipal and provincial organizations that already operate in the area, in order to optimize resources and avoid duplication of efforts.

The minister reiterated that the MIVHED will maintain constant supervision over the situation until the affected families recover safe housing conditions, also highlighting the importance of strengthening preventive measures against similar weather events.
