Boca Chica.-The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) held the ceremony of his Seventeenth Ordinary Graduation of Higher Educationwhere 608 new professionals graduated in different technological careers.
The investiture ceremony was headed by its rector, Rafael Feliz Garciathe largest in the history of the renowned institute specializing in technology. It took place at the San Souci Convention Center on the morning of Friday, July 26.
With these 608 graduates, ITLA has delivered a total of 5,507 higher education graduates to Dominican society, reaffirming through each graduation its commitment to the training of highly qualified professionals in various areas of technology.
The rector of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), Rafael Feliz García, in his greetings expressed joy and congratulations to the professionals in the technological field, for having successfully completed the goal of preparing themselves academically and joining the vision of contributing the knowledge acquired for the development of the country.
In his keynote speech at the ceremony, the rector said: “Today, 608 graduates receive their degrees in various areas of technology. Each of you has shown dedication, effort and perseverance to get here, and for that you deserve all our recognition and admiration. The training that our students receive at ITLA is cutting-edge and our graduates enjoy high employability, which currently stands at 92%,” said Feliz García.
He continued, “Our educational programs have international recognition of quality through ABET accreditation. [Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology]”We are the only higher education institution in the Dominican Republic that has this accreditation, which reinforces our commitment to excellence,” said ITLA rector Rafael Féliz.
The setting was conducive for Rafael Féliz, rector of ITLA, to announce, in his keynote speech at the inauguration ceremony, the signing of an inter-institutional agreement with the Agricultural Bank of the Dominican Republic (Bagrícola), which will take place soon to join forces in agricultural technology projects in favor of the Dominican countryside.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic (MESCYT), Franklin García Fermín, who applauded the visionary initiatives proposed by Rafael Féliz García, as rector of ITLA, and, in turn, reminded the young graduates that the future and the present are in their hands and that they should remain optimistic “because with a positive mind there are no limits to achieving dreams,” said García Fermín.
Guest speaker Darían Vargas also offered a few words of motivation and inspiration to the new professionals.
New 608 technology professionals
Of the 608 graduates, 248 belong to the Software Development Technologist; 3 to the Artificial Intelligence Technologist; 13 to the Data Science and Analytics Technologist; 18 to the Industrial Design Technologist; 2 to the Renewable Energy Technologist; 4 to the Automated Manufacturing Technologist; 2 to the Medical Device Manufacturing Technologist; 40 to the Mechatronics Technologist; 24 to the Information Networks Technologist, 137 to the Computer Security Technologist, 97 to the Multimedia Technologist, 8 to the Sound Technologist, 7 to the Interactive Simulation and Video Game Development Technologist and the first 3 graduates of the Forensic Computing career, the professionals, Arnaldo Santos, Lesly Bello and Abel Marte Mejía.
It is important to highlight that, of this group of new professionals, 23% are women and 77% are men, reflecting a diversity of talents that will be available to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the Dominican Republic.
ITLA authorities reported that the employability level of its graduates is 92%, who not only manage to access excellent job opportunities, but also receive salaries above the market average. This highlights the quality and competitiveness of the professional educational training that students receive at the academy.
The event was attended by rectors of various national universities, general directors of the Dominican State, special guests and ITLA professors.
