The Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD), and the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), signed a professionalization agreement with the aim of continuing to promote the skills of military personnel and similar personnel of the air entity, through technical training professional.
The agreement was signed by the Commander General of the FARD; Aviation Technical Major General Carlos Febrillet Rodríguez and the rector of ITLA engineer Omar Méndez Lluberes, where it is contemplated that through this alliance both entities commit to making their best efforts and applying common policies in order to execute the Technological Professionalization Project for the FARD.
In this sense, the FARD commander affirmed that through this alliance the air soldiers will obtain the tools required to perfect the technique in a comfortable and safe way. “We are looking for help at the technological level so that our soldiers are trained and in relation to flight simulator courses it will represent an exponential saving, since it will save a number of resources that can be used for other areas,” he said.
On his side, the rector of ITLA, stressed that this pact will strengthen ties to have the necessary tools and technologies, so that FARD can be vigilant of the airspace of the Dominican Republic.
Méndez emphasized that the agreement establishes the creation of simulators so that pilots can have the ability to manipulate the aircraft they have in operation and those that are consigned to buy in the FARD budget. “This tactical modality has the characteristic of being par excellence, a virtual reality and it will be a before and after in what will be training true aviation technicians in the nation,” he specified.
Through the agreement, it was also agreed that ITLA will benefit FARD personnel and members by training them in the areas of technology, allowing them to pursue a study program to obtain a Higher Technical Education degree and/or permanent education at that institution. academic.
Among the careers that will be taught to FARD members are: Information Security Technology, Computer Forensics, Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, Multimedia Information Networks, Mechatronics, Simulation Development; among others.
