The National Association of Friendship Italy-Cuba expressed its support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of the attacks perpetrated by the Government of the United States (US), which intensified after the elections of July 28, in which the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, was re-elected.
In a statement, the Association denounced that “we are facing a tremendous imperialist offensive led by the United States that is hitting the entire American continent, dusting off political-military coups to prevent the emancipation of the Latin American peoples.”
In this regard, he cited as an example the coup d’état consolidated in Peru and warned about “the risks run by the progressive governments of Colombia and Honduras,” countries in which the White House also intends to implement plans to overthrow presidents Gustavo Petro and Xiomara Castro, respectively.
In the document, he warns that “one of the main fronts of imperial attack is against the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela,” in addition to the brutal blockade against Cuba.
He stressed that Venezuela is the victim of a large number of unilateral coercive measures and is subjected to “a perverse media attack aimed at delegitimizing the election results, even before they were known.”
The association “strongly condemns this new attack against a sovereign and independent country, which has freely chosen its own system of government and which is not accountable to anyone, nor subject to military or cyber attacks.”
“The fascist danger is present everywhere and our Venezuelan comrades did well to launch the international anti-fascist event of the last few days, in which we had the honour of participating,” he said, referring to the World Congress against Fascism, Neo-fascism and other Similar Expressions, held in Caracas on 10 and 11 September.
He declared that “the National Association of Friendship Italy-Cuba is and will always be against imperialism and fascist resurgences. Internationalist and anti-fascist solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Cuba and all anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist movements.”
