Saturday (15) was classified by Brazilians Ítalo Ferreira, Miguel Pupo and Yago Dora to the quarterfinals of the second stage of the World Surfing League (WSL), played in an artificial wave pool in Abu Dhabi (Emirates Arabs united). They won their respective batteries and will be the only representatives of the country in the final stretch of the event from 0h (Brasília time) on Sunday (15).
Who stopped in the round of 16 was the two -time world champion Filipe Todedo when he competed with Japanese Kanoa Igararashi. The Brazilian crashed into a photographer in the water by surfing the second right -wing wave that left him upset. They were also on the way Ambém Deivid “DVD” Silva and Matheus Herdy.

In a 100% national dispute, the Potiguar Ítalo Ferreira, the first Olympic champion in history, won the best about Santa Catarina Matheus Herdy. Highlight of the five battery, Italo added 15.17 points very in part by risking a successful air maneuver that earned him 8.5. Matthew Herdy added 12.60 points.
In the eighth and last battery of the day, Santa Catarina Yago Dora dispatched Australian Joel Vaughan. Even though not going well in the right attempts – it took a grade 5.90 – Dora shone on the left with an air (7.77 points), totaling 13.67, against 12.67 points of the Australian.

Female dispute
The first day of the women’s tournament with 18 surfers in Abu Dhabi was not good for the Brazilian Tatiana Weston-Webb and Luana Silva. They were unable to advance straight from the first phase to the quarterfinals and went to get the place in the recap.
