The institutions contemplated are non -profit organizations that work in 13 lines of worksuch as forest restoration, wildlife conservation, popular education, sport and culture, gender and diversity, solidarity economy, bioeconomics, food safety, fishing and family aquaculture, as well as health promotion and social welfare.
During the announcementthe Brazilian Director-General of Itaipu, Enio Verri (photo), highlighted the importance of social mobilization.
“We recognize that only City Hall, the State and the Union in isolation would not be able to overcome the historic inequalities that permeate our nation. The population, with their work, will and dedication to others, plays a crucial role in reducing these disparities,” said Enio Verri.
Binational’s coordination director, Carlos Caroni, stressed that the announcement is unprecedented in scope and impact. “The goal is to strengthen social organizations that develop projects in essential areas, focusing on the most vulnerable segments of society,” he said.
Classified entities will have until September 30 to review and adjust their projects in the social compass system. Technical support will be offered by Itaipu during business hours. Failure to comply with the requirements on time may result in the institution’s disqualification.
