The generator of electricity Itabo maintained an outstanding performance in the system national energy, achieving an average availability of 85% of the energy generated through its 260 megawatts of installed capacity.
This constant performance positioned it among the first three generators of the system for its price competitive.
Gas pipeline construction
Among the most relevant milestones of this year, the company highlights the beginning of the construction of the gas pipeline project of the Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) at the international dock of Itabo.
This initiative strategic will allow the reception of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vessels, optimizing the logistics supply of this key fuel and significantly improving the efficiency of its management.
“Itabo continues to prove that it is the generator further resilient of the system national electricity supply, with essential contributions to guarantee a stable energy supply,” said Edwin de los Santos, general manager of the company.
25 years of operations
The generator closed 2024 with a stake of market of 7% and celebrated its 25th anniversary under the motto “Itabo Silver Legacy: A Quarter Century Energizing the Future.”
During the commemoration, tribute was paid to the dedication and loyalty of your employeeswho have contributed to the company’s continued success, with careers ranging from five to 25 years in the organization.
- Within the framework of its commitment to sustainability and the inclusion, Itabo implemented a gender equity project in 2024 that managed to increase the stake female labor force from 8 to 12%, marking a significant growth of 4%.
Besides, Itabo was recognized by Great Place to Work (GPTW) in the Manufacturing and Production category, reaching position number 12 in the ranking of the best companies to work for in Central America and the Caribbean.
