The president counselor of the National Electoral Institute, Lorenzo Córdova, released the quick count of the mandate revocation consultation that took place this Sunday.
He highlighted that from a sample of 1,830 sample boxes, information was received from 1,753 boxes, 95.8% of the sample with a confidence of 95 percent.
He highlighted that it is estimated that citizen participation was between 17.0 and 18.2% of the Electoral List and Register. If this information is confirmed, the percentage of 40% required for the consultation to be binding would not be reached.
He mentioned that the results of the quick count showed the following results:
a) That the mandate be revoked due to loss of confidence: between 6.4% 7.8%
b) That he continue in the Presidency of the Republic: between 90.3 and 91.9%
The invalid votes would be between 1.6 and 2.1 percent.
