The Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, said this Wednesday that it will be evaluated that students stop using chinstraps in the classrooms of schools in the province in case there is no increase in cases of coronavirus during April, when a drop in temperatures, and stressed that no increase in infections was detected with the start of classes.

“If we see that after the cold weeks the coronavirus does not increase again, there will be talk of removing the masks from the classrooms; We are going to analyze the entire month of April because in March we are doing well, if April continues the same, it can be proposed,” Kreplak advanced in statements in dialogue with FM Urbana Play radio.

Reviewing the epidemiological situation in relation to classesthe minister specified that there was no impact on the increase in cases of Covid-19, which he attributed to “care measures such as the ventilation of classrooms and the use of a mask”, but warned that “we will have to see when the cold arrives”.

Although for this new school year “bubbles” were eliminated in schoolsthe correct use of the chinstrap is requested of all students from first grade, teachers and non-teachers.

Similarly, it is recommended to maintain social distance and cross ventilation in the establishment and regular hand hygiene.

At the same time, the Buenos Aires Government incorporated 33,000 carbon dioxide sensors to monitor the air in closed spaces and provided masks to schools.

Regarding vaccination, the minister specified that in the province of Buenos Aires 94% of the population has applied the first dose and more than 84% the second dose.

“The third dose has been increasing but in recent weeks it has slowed down, it is important to go get vaccinated and give yourself the second and third doses,” Kreplak said.

At the same time, he indicated that “we have the risk now when the cold comes, we must not be late.”

He also recalled that people who are at risk due to their age or health and have already taken the three doses, can access a fourth dose four weeks after the previous one.
