Lina María Ocampo, from the San Sebastián neighborhood in Manizales, wanted to express his gratitude to the Police following an incident that occurred last Friday, September 13, which resulted in the intervention of the authorities and the loss of his dog, whom he considered as another member of his family.

Faced with the threat, her dog reacted to defend her, displaying unusual behavior for him, since he had never been an aggressive dog. “My dog ​​was not aggressive, he never was. My husband and I had him since he was a puppy.”says Lina, visibly affected by the events.

During the altercation, Lina tried to control the animal, but it, disoriented by the situation, ended up attacking her.

If the police hadn’t intervened, I wouldn’t be here telling the story.“, says Lina, who also remembers that she was home alone with her 14-month-old baby at the time.

He thanked the police officer after what happened to his dog

A police patrolman was the one who, risking his own safety, intervened to stop the dog, which was already out of control and also attacked him.

Lina deeply appreciates the bravery of the officer, who acted without hesitation.If they had not intervened, the dog could have ended the life of the patrolman or even mine.“, he says excitedly.

Although the decision to end the dog’s life was painful, Lina understands that it was the only option at the time.

We are in deep pain, because for us, he was like a son. But it was him or it was us.“, he confesses sadly.

Finally, Lina wanted to send a message of gratitude to the patrolman who risked his life to save her and her son.

Mr. Patrolman, I don’t know your name exactly, but I have a lot to thank you for. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be telling this story. I have my life and that of my son thanks to you and the institution.”.
