The majestic volcano presented ash activity in a light gray to black tone, it reached 1800 meters high. According to the Geological Service “it is due to the occurrence of small earthquakes, it is in unstable activity and may have variations.”
News Colombia.
The Nevado del Ruiz Volcano presented new seismic activity and its volcanic ash reached 1800 meters high, an event that could be seen in cities such as Bogotá, Manizales and Caldas.
Although 24 hours a day it is rigorously monitored by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, there are many patterns that influence the increase or decrease in activity.
A clear example is the behavior of the Nevado on the morning of this Tuesday, the emission of ash reached 1800 meters high from the top of the volcano.
Ash dispersion plumes could be observed from cities such as Manizales, Pereira, Bogotá and Caldas.

Latest bulletin The Geological Service information system sets off the alarms, there is great concern due to the changes that it has presented in recent weeks.
“The presence of thermal anomalies in the bottom of the crater greater than those presented in previous months, associated with the output -sometimes continuous- of ash, are parameters that indicate a higher level of activity with respect to previous weeks,” they indicated.
The report also mentions that “the activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano continues at ORANGE LEVEL, which indicates that there is a greater probability that in days or weeks it will erupt more than it has in the last 10 years.”
In turn, they specified that in the event that there is an acceleration of the processes that suggest an imminent eruption or that the eruption itself occurs, the activity level will be changed to red.
The alert for the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano will remain at an orange level and for the moment a reasonable amount of time is required to return to a yellow alert, as reported by the National Geological Service.
