According to the count data until this afternoon, 247,462 signatures have been accepted (8.9% when 10% is required), so 28,689 remain to enable the plebiscite promoted by the Pit-Cnt and some sectors of the Frente Amplio (Communist Party , Socialist Party, among others).

For its part, of the 341,406 that were entered, 82,229 were rejected for various reasons: lack of signature, signature that does not match, canceled, disqualified, minors, incomplete data, among others.

The ballot that will likely be put to the vote of the citizens in October proposes prohibiting the system of individual savings for retirement, that is, the elimination of the AFAPs within a maximum period of two years.

Furthermore, the proposal that modifies article 67 of the Constitution proposes reducing the retirement age to 60 years, in addition to stating that “no retirement or pension may be less than the value of the national minimum wage.”

The Pit-Cnt will carry out a partial strike tomorrow, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in commemoration of the general strike against the 1973 coup d’état. That day it can already be confirmed that the plebiscite will take place.
