The Argentine ambassador to China, Sabino Vaca Narvajaaffirmed this Monday that he is working on “expanding the participation and presence of Argentine technology-based companies” in that country and highlighted the importance that this item was acquiring in world trade.

In this sense, he highlighted the Argentine presence in the main China International Import and Export Fair (CIIE)and estimated that it will allow the consolidation of the country brand.

The official stressed that the national presence in this fair “This year doubles the number of companies from the previous edition”and highlighted that “For the first time, the country has a space to promote the services sector based on knowledge and technology.”

Vaca Narvaja said that the Embassy is carrying out “an active accompaniment to Argentine companies so that they can be participating in the fair, with the expectation that they can diversify and increase their exportable offer, which helps us strengthen our foreign exchange position” .

Along these lines, he stressed that they are looking for “present other products that transcend those that we traditionally export to China, such as wine”.

For this reason, he considered that “an outstanding achievement of this edition is the participation for the first time with a national pavilion in the services sectorwith the promotion of products linked to the technology and communications sector”.

“In Argentina, the services sector based on knowledge, biotechnology, agrotechnology, are pillars of national growth and an increasingly important part of world trade and we are committed to it to promote and deepen our bilateral relationship with China”, highlighted the ambassador.

During the opening of the fair, the Chinese president, Xi Jinpingmaintained that “China will work with all countries to share opportunities arising from its vast market” and noted that his government “will establish pilot zones for Silk Road e-commerce cooperation and build national demonstration zones for the innovative development of trade in services, so as to foster innovation in trade and promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.”

In this regard, the Argentine Embassy in China reported that, as the country is part of this mechanism in light of the agreement signed earlier this year in Beijing during the presidential visit of Alberto Fernández, “it will be able to benefit from these policies in the short term”.

For his part, Vaca Narvaja highlighted the growing role of the internal market of the Asian country in the recovery of the global economy.

This is the fifth edition of the main fair related to exports from China, Argentina’s second largest trading partner.

More than twenty Argentine companies are participating in the event that will conclude on November 10 in the city of Shanghai.

The Argentine delegation, made up of 20 companies from Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Salta and the city of Buenos Aires, pursues the objective of presenting its export potential at the most important fair in China, in a pavilion of 340 square meters.

The Argentine pavilion has a variety of national technological offerings that range from low-cost satellites to intelligent construction systems, including digital solutions for energy, medicine and agriculture, according to the Argentine Embassy in China.

It also had a food and beverage stand and several food companies where all the regional economies of our country were represented.
