In a change that promises to impact the consumption and price competition, the government confirmed that Argentines can already enter the country Appliances White line bought abroad, including bordering countries such as Chili. The measure was announced by the Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzenegger, and officialized through a resolution of the General Directorate of Customs.
The modification was applied to the luggage regime of the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA), which eliminates the entry of artifacts such as ice cream makers, washing machine, kitchens, microwaves, airs, dishwasher, dishwasher and heating, among others. Before, they were restricted to the level of dangerous goods or for industrial purposes, which generated controversies and criticisms that harmed the trade of Chili.
More opportunities for consumers
With this flexibility, the Argentine consumer can take advantage of more competitive prices abroad. In Chilichains such as Falabella, Ripley, Sodimac, Ikea and Easy offer attractive promotions in technology and home, especially in nearby cities with border crossings such as Mendoza or Bariloche.
The entry of these products will remain regulated by the franchise regime: up to $ 300 for over 16 years of land trip and up to 500 if you are traveling by plane. If that amount is exceeded, 50% on the surplus must be paid, but it will not be considered a foul or contraband, as happened so far with this type of articles.
The Government justified the measure with an approach to “normative modernization” and the elimination of “absurd prohibitions” that favored corporate interests at the expense of citizens’ pocket. “Equateing a refrigerator with a submachine gun was a grotesque anomaly,” Sturzenegger ironized during the announcement.
The new resolution, identified as IG-2025-3-E-Arca-Dgadua, is already in force. With this decision, a new chapter for cross -border consumption is opened, which could press local businesses to review their price policy and adapt to greater competition.
