TOLUCA, State of Mexico. In front of 22,000 militants and supporters from all corners of the entity, teacher Delfina Gómez Álvarez, the only pre-candidate of the MORENA-PT and PVEM alliance, began her pre-campaign for the electoral process for the governorship of the State of Mexico, with a message clear about the corruption that prevails in the entity.
“It has been 100 years of a dark night, but soon the Mexican people will make it dawn. This year, those who are united by continuing to distribute privileges and steal will receive an unforgettable lesson in dignity. Because if we Mexicans have something, it’s dignity and no one is going to buy it,” said teacher Delfina Gómez in an emotional speech before 22,000 militants and supporters gathered next to the Toluca Government Palace, in the State of Mexico.
“Today is a day to pay tribute to the resistance of the Mexicans, who have resisted 100 years of governments that have only thought about their privileges, using power for their benefit and governing with profound contempt for the people. It has been a long night of 100 years,” said the teacher while thousands of people shouted “Delfina, Delfina” and waved flags with the colors of MORENA.
The massive event held next to the Plaza de los Mártires was accompanied by the pre-candidate Horacio Duarte Olivares, General Coordinator of the pre-campaign, Higinio Martínez Miranda, Special Delegate for the electoral process in the State of Mexico, the National Leader of MORENA, Mario Delgado Carrillo, from the PT, Óscar González Yáñez, from the PVEM, José Alberto Couttolenc Buentello, and the citizen organization Fuerza Turquesa, as well as federal, local and Mexican deputies from all corners of the State of Mexico.
“This town is so noble that, despite having suffered so much abuse and neglect, it is not motivated by revenge, on the contrary,” added the sole candidate of the MORENA-PT-PVEM Alliance, teacher Delfina Gómez, “the engine of our victory is the hope of a new future and the love for our people”.
The teacher Delfina Gómez thanked the Mexicans for their confidence and reiterated, with the approval of those present, “many years have been waiting for this opportunity so that in the State of Mexico there is a government truly of the people and for the people. Plural, inclusive and above all honest. A government that does not lie, does not steal and does not betray them.
“This will be a historic election in which the eyes of the world are on the State of Mexico,” said the sole candidate of the MORENA-PT-PVEM Alliance.
In his speech, Horacio Duarte, General Coordinator of the pre-campaign, urged the thousands of attendees to go “with joy, with their hearts in their hands, to tell the people of Mexico that this is the alliance of the future, this is the winning alliance, this is the alliance of honesty; there, on the other side, is the alliance of corruption, the alliance of the past, the alliance of the freeloaders, those of us who no longer love them, so the future belongs to the people of Mexico”.
Taking the floor, Higinio Martínez Miranda, Special Delegate for the electoral process in the State of Mexico, stressed that the challenge is to convince, not the millions who are already convinced, “but to convince more people that together we can make history with the teacher Delfina Gomez.
Also, Mario Delgado, the National Leader of MORENA, stressed that “we have come for what was stolen from us six years ago, may honesty triumph over corruption, may the closeness of the people triumph over indifference, may humility triumph over the arrogance. It is about putting an end to a group that has looted and robbed the State of Mexico, causing violence, poverty and a lot of inequality ”, he concluded.
The event was also attended by Citlalli Hernández, Secretary General of MORENA, Martha Guerrero, State Leader of the party, Mariela Gutiérrez, mayor of Tecámac, Juan Hugo de la Rosa, leader of United for a Better Country, Fernando Vilchis, mayor of Ecatepec, as well as such as councilors Daniel Serrano, Pedro Zenteno and Raciel Pérez, and local deputy Isaac Montoya.
