Canteen and new bathrooms at the Municipal Stadium
Several works are being carried out in infrastructure that is under the jurisdiction of the Sports Area of the Departmental Government.
As soon as the officials’ license expires, improvements will continue in two weak points of the Municipal Stadium: the canteen and the hygienic cabinets.
At the same time, sports activities are starting these days both in Melo and in Laguna Merín.
“Although we are fundamentally focused on the conditioning of the fields as work that began to be done in the Stadium that is still being carried out, also in the Salesiano where there has been activity of the national teams, I even understand that on Wednesday they will play again. On the other hand, Cerro Largo Fútbol Club that began its preparation activity, that is why in Los Pinos we also left everything early. More than anything we have already started with a summer proposal that is already underway today.” confirmed Marcos Borges to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“We have volleyball, basketball, handball, soccer, functional gymnastics and aerobic gymnastics” he detailed. “A very varied activity so that people don’t stop and keep moving now in the summer. The activities in Laguna Merín also started last weekend” announced one of those responsible for the Municipality’s Sports Area.
Once the officials’ leave ends, several jobs will resume next week. “We started with the issue of the Municipal Stadium bathrooms. The entire battery of hygienic cabinets will be made new” he assured. “Next to that a new canteen is going to be built” he added.
“When we finish that, we will move on to the Auxiliary Field where bathrooms will be built for the public, the existing locker rooms will be enlarged and renovated, work will be done on the perimeter fence with a replacement in the Olympic fence and the creation of a new field that will be used as a soccer school.” He said in relation to the property that is located between the Municipal Workshop and the Auxiliary Court. “The floor has already been worked on, now we must add irrigation to be able to plant it” said Marcos Borges.
In relation to the bathrooms and the stadium canteen, there has been talk for decades due to the precariousness of these areas. “A stadium that receives people from other places and a lot of people from the department itself must be in very good shape. That was in a pretty bad state. Now happily we have gotten our hands on it. They are spaces that are going to be completely new with coating, ceramics, taps and renovated sanitary facilities” stood out.
“The bathrooms are going from scratch, with new ceilings and lighting. In addition, a new canteen will be created” confirmed.
“The place assigned to the canteen until today will become a warehouse because where the officials currently have the storage of all the tools, it will be part of the new Auxiliary Court changing rooms” reported.
“We will convert that place from the canteen to a warehouse for our officials’ tools and then we will build a canteen from scratch, a new one, so that it will give another touch to the Municipal Stadium” Marcos Borges, Head of the Sports Area of the Departmental Government, ended by saying.
