Miami, United States – until April 21, the Platform steps of change will keep its CALL, aimed at signatory organizations of the Agreement for Democracy Already citizens in general, with the aim of collecting proposals on the transition towards democracy and citizen mobilization in Cuba.
The initiative invites interested parties to send their ideas through forms available on the website www.pasdecambio.com. The proposals must be limited to 260 words per point, to facilitate their dissemination and possible English translation.
According to the call published by the platform, it seeks to collect proposals in two main axes: transition to democracy in Cuba and citizen mobilization for change.

On the first axis, participants are asked to respond: “What are the two priority measures that must be carried out in the transition to democracy in Cuba in two areas?” Thematic areas include transitional justice, democratic construction and participation, economic development, social issues (educationhealth, housing), and armed bodies and interior order.
As for the second axis, the call proposes: “What concrete actions can Cubans take on or outside the island to accelerate the change of system?”
The call for change steps also indicates that its objective with this consultation is “to collect a diversity of ideas and perspectives that enrich the debate and feel the foundations for a peaceful and effective transition towards a democratic system in Cuba.”
The organization also stressed the importance of citizen participation in this process: “The participation of all actors is crucial to achieve an inclusive and representative process.”
The platform urges interested people and groups to send their proposals “as soon as possible” and remember that the forms are available in www.pasdecambio.com.
Félix Navarro Rodríguez, political expriceseer and president of the Party for Democracy “Pedro Luis Boitel” in a video published by Cubanet stressed that opposition organizations that settle in Cuba have joined together to achieve a peaceful transition to democracy and requested the support of actors external to the Cuban cause.
