After reaching agreements between the National Rice strike committee led by agricultural dignity and the National Government at the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, this Friday -August 1- The resolution that submits the green paddy rice to the regime of price regulated price was issued.
The resolution was issued by minegriciculture, after the favorable concept issued by the Superintendence of Industry and Commercein which the entity considered that the administrative act complies with constitutional purposes “Related to the special protection of the peasantry, the guarantee of food sovereignty and security, and the promotion of integral rural development as a manifestation of the general interest”

The regulations, in accordance with the Minambiente, recognizes the production costs of the Paddy Verde rice by definition of a minimum price acquisition price.
On this resolution, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Martha Carvajalino, said that “This administrative act, whose nature is exceptional and transitory, will be subject to permanent monitoring by this ministry, and It will be accompanied by the implementation of a regime for regulated price for white rice pricesa shock plan for smuggling control with the participation of potfa and DIAN, and other competence measures of the Ministry of Commerce”

In turn, Diana Marcela Morales, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, emphasized that from the government they have “assumed the commitment to evaluate the viability of concrete measures to promote the stability of the rice sector and guarantee the effectiveness of price regulation. From the Mincomercio we will make the analysis of commercial defense instruments and the implementation of customs control mechanisms to combat illegal practices that can generate the entry of rice at artificially low prices”

The technical analyzes of the main producing areas allowed to establish that prices per ton of green paddy rice remain like this:
– Bajo Cauca $ 1,491,478
– Center, $ 1,589,489
– North coast, $ 1,512,785
– Llanos, $ 1,457,387
– Santanderes $ 1,555,398.

The resolution also establishes that “Every buyer must report weekly on the Syriarro Platform the prices paid for green paddy rice, the tons bought, The purchase municipality, the mill, plant or agency, and the form, term, payment and financing conditions”
The breaches to the provisions contained in the resolution will be informed of the Superintendence of Industry and commerce so that – if necessary – measures are taken, for being of its competence.

Thus, from the National Government they insisted on the call to all the actors immersed in the productive process, of transformation and marketing of rice, to advance in achieving a chain agreement that promptly recovers the stability of the sector and guarantee its competitiveness and sustainability.
