How is the procedure carried out?
Angel Tamaris, head of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation of Mexico City, explained that to obtain a permanent driver’s license, those interested must make an appointment on the website of the Ministry of Mobility. www.semovi.cdmx.gob.mx/citas to be able to locate the module closest to your home or go to the Weapons Room in the Iztacalco mayor’s office.

Already by appointment, applicants must appear with originals and copies of their CURP, an official identification and proof of address to their module.
In the case of the Weapons Room, 60 computers were installed so that those who apply for the first time can take a theoretical exam of 20 questions on road safety, traffic regulations and signage.
If approved, they will be able to pay for the permanent license in the treasury modules that are also located in each center to carry out the procedures.
If the exam is not passed, the applicant may have a second opportunity during the same visit to the module, before requesting a new procedure for another day.
The Secretary of Mobility of Mexico City, Hector Ulises García Nieto He explained that this exam is not only a filter, but also encourages applicants to study about road safety.
“It is an exam with 20 questions, it is not the same for everyone, the questions are random from a subject of more than 200 questions, there will be no cheating,” he said.
After the exam and payment of 1,500 pesos for the permanent licenseapplicants go to the data capture, photography and biometrics area and then go to the printing area.
