A video uploaded to TikTok runs on WhatsApp the second week of July 2023. Its protagonist: Lorenzo Mendoza. «Confirmed Lorenzo Mendoza, presidential candidate 2024! Let’s vote my dear Venezuela!, reads a static image of the president The information is false.
The video shows the image of Mendoza in the foreground and in the background a façade of one of its Cervecería Polar plants and a PAN flour production plant, and is accompanied by the emblematic march of the Venevisión TV channel. In the material there are no statements by Mendoza informing of a presidential candidacy.
The material was posted on TikTok by the user @yarnilamartinez, as seen in the video. When doing the search, EsPaja found that it was uploaded on July 9.
Until July 14, 2023 there is no public statement from the president of Empresas Polar. Nor is it the first time that Mendoza’s name has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate and on all occasions he has been part of a false campaign. Every time an electoral event approaches, Mendoza’s name comes out into the public arena in the electoral arena.

Lorenzo Mendoza has never been in favor of participating in politics. Member of the third generation of the Mendoza business family, Lorenzo is in charge of the largest Venezuelan private industrial corporation.
In September 2022, Empresas Polar denied the connection of its executive president to an alleged political movement called the National Alliance Platform (PAN), with the initials of the star product of Alimentos Polar, with which he would undertake his passage through politics.
And more recently, EsPaja also verified information (false) according to which Mendoza would replace the primary candidate, María Corina Machado (disqualified from holding public office until 2030) after an eventual triumph of Machado in that contest, scheduled for October 2022. .
