Israel announced on Saturday that it is questioning the composition of a Gaza Peace Council body announced by US President Donald Trump, which includes Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and a senior Qatari official.
“The announcement of the composition of the Gaza Steering Committeewhich depends on the Peace Council [instalado por Trump]was not coordinated with Israel and goes against its policy,” said a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad indicated this Saturday that the members of the Peace Council had been chosen to serve the interests of Israel.

That composition, indicated the group, is a testimony of “premeditated negative intentions regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, in force since October 10 in the Gaza Strip.”
