The Israel Defense Forces (FDI) ended this Sunday their withdrawal from the Netzarim corridor, an area that divides the north and south of the Gaza Strip and that the Israeli army militarized since the beginning of the conflict.
The exit was confirmed by Israel’s military radio and is part of the agreements of the first phase of the high to the negotiated fire with Hamas. It was scheduled for the 22nd of the agreement, and two weeks ago the Israeli troops had made a partial withdrawal of the area.

The demilitarization of the Netzarim corridor allows thousands of displaced people from the north of the Gaza Strip to return to their homes, a movement that began from six in the morning (local time).
The population has been moving in cars and foot to begin to inspect what remains of their homes and try to rescue some belongings, while discovering areas of burial of corpses
An incident was recorded when several individuals approached less than 300 meters of damping zone where Israeli troops had been removed, which opened fire against the group. Three Palestinians died, and several ended up injured.
In response, the Palestinian Civil Defense Service called the population not to approach Israeli border posts and follow the instructions of the authorities.
With the exit of Israel from the Netzarim corridor, the forces of that country only occupy the damping area, between 500 and 700 meters wide on the border with Gaza, and the Filadelphia corridor, which is located next to the border with Egypt.
Negotiations continue in tension
Although the Israel Military Movement this Sunday complies with what was agreed in the first phase of the high to fire that began on January 19, the path to lasting peace in the region does not advance as planned.
The second phase of the agreement should have begun to be negotiated since February 3, and has not yet initiated, according to information confirmed by Basem Naim, a member of the political bureau of Hamas.
On Saturday night Israel sent a delegation to Qatar, but so it is known only to negotiate technical details of the Alto El Fuego agreement. At least until Monday they will not advance at any point related to the next stage.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned this Saturday of his visit to the United States, and it is expected that at the beginning of the week to the security cabinet, where the next step that his government will take on the way to La Paz must be discussed.
