The thousands of families affected by the flooding caused by the recent rains began to receive assistance from the SEN and local authorities. The extended forecast shows rain for the whole week.
In the town of Puerto Casado, department of Alto Paraguay, more than 1,700 families were affected by the floods, as confirmed by the Minister of National Emergency, Gladys Borja.
In Vallemí, department of Concepción, it is estimated that there are more than 1,000 flooded homes. Some occupants agree to leave, but others resist and prefer to stay in their homes, for fear of robbery and looting.

“We coordinate actions with the mayor of Vallemí, Concepción, we have installed shelters and assisted with food and mattresses,” said the head of the SEN, in communication with 1080 AM.

The situation is also pressing in the south, specifically in Ayolas, department of Misiones, where the waters of the Paraná River are very close to reaching the alert level.
