It all started with a complaint made by ‘CNN’ in which prosecutors in New York assured that Bukele’s senior officials made a pact with the gangs of that country.

In exchange for better terms, the gangs will lower the murder rate to make it look like their tough approach to crime was working.“, reported the media. To which Petro pronounced: “Better than making government pacts under the table is that justice can make them on the table without deceit and in search of Peace.”

Faced with his criticism, the head of state of El Salvador responded and even mentioned the process that Nicolás Petro goes through, Petro’s son, after being denounced for allegedly having received money for his father’s campaign.

“First he accuses of inhuman treatment and now they talk about “better conditions”.

Also, I don’t understand your obsession with El Salvador.

Isn’t your son the one who makes pacts under the table and also for money?

Is everything okay at home?” Bukele wrote.

Given the response of the president of El Salvador, Petro assured that in Colombia democracy was deepening but not destroying it. “Dear President Nayib, everything is fine in my house. Here there is the presumption of innocence, a universal principle. Here the president does not remove judges or magistrates; he fights for a more autonomous and stronger justice“, wrote.

It should be recalled that Human Rights Watch recently had access to a database on massive violations of due processextreme overcrowding in prisons and deaths in custody in El Salvador.
