Ismael Burgueño reinforces direct attention to populations affected by fires in Tijuana

  • “You are not alone, we will continue to work closely and in solidarity with the affected families,” said the mayor of Tijuana, Burgueño Ruiz.
  • The first mayor aligns his work with the social and proximity policy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, prioritizing those who need it most

Tijuana, Baja California, January 23, 2026.— In territory and with a humanist approach, the Municipal Government of Tijuana reinforced its presence in the neighborhoods to directly serve the citizens affected by a series of fires recorded in recent days, which left between 18 and 20 homes damaged, mainly in areas with urban backwardness.

In this context, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz personally went to communities such as Rancho Las Flores and Tona La Presa to accompany the families and supervise the institutional response at the scene.

During the visits, the municipal president reiterated that governing implies being close to the people, especially in critical moments.

“A humanist government cares for and supports its citizens. They are not alone, we will continue to work closely and in solidarity with the affected families,” he expressed, confirming the immediate activation of emergency protocols and the participation of different municipal areas to provide comprehensive support.

The care included the delivery of food, groceries and blankets, the provision of temporary shelters, medical and psychological care, as well as support for the replacement of official documents. In addition, care was provided to affected sentient beings, reinforcing a vision of comprehensive care that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of all forms of life present in the community.

This way of acting is aligned with the territorial policy promoted at the national level by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, which privileges closeness, active listening and direct attention to those who need it most.

In Tijuana, this vision translates into permanent presence, inter-institutional coordination and subsequent urban recovery actions – such as cleaning, rehabilitation of roads and infrastructure – so that the affected neighborhoods move towards normality with support and results.
